My direct debit payment for tap water has failed. What should I do?

Was the direct debit payment of your tap water costs unsuccessful? Because there wasn't enough money in your account? You will then receive a letter asking you to pay the amount.

If you pay your water authority tax in instalments, we divide the annual amount into 8 parts. Normally, you pay the same amount 8 times. Has a direct debit payment failed? Then we will try to debit the amount again a few days later. Are there still issues? Then we will skip the instalment in question. We will then increase the instalment amounts you have to pay for the following months. That way, you will still have paid the total amount by the end of the year.

Example

Suppose your annual payment is 200 euros. Normally you would pay 8 x 25 euros. From February to September you would pay 25 euros per month. However, if in April the system fails to withdraw the money from your account you will then pay not 25, but 30 euros per month from May to September. This way, you will still pay a total of 200 euros.

The direct debit has failed several times

In this case, we will stop the direct debit. From then on, you will have to pay manually again. We will also send you a reminder of the outstanding amount.
