We have noticed that paying via iDeal in My Waternet is not always possible. We are working on a solution.

Boil-water advisory

We believe that clean, healthy and safe tap water is important. However, your tap water might be unsafe to drink due to a service disruption. It may not be sufficiently clean. We will then issue a boil-water advisory. This means you should boil your water before you use it.

What should I do during a boil-water advisory?

Boil the tap water for 3 minutes. This concerns tap water that you will use for:

  • Drinking
  • Coffee, tea, lemonade, or bottle feeding
  • Brushing your teeth
  • Cooking
  • Washing fruit or vegetables
  • Drinking water for pets

Once it has been boiled, the water is safe for drinking

How do I boil the water?

  • Bring the water to a boil in a pot or kettle. Let the water boil for 3 minutes.
  • Try not to use an electric kettle for this, as most electric kettles turn off once the water begins to boil.
  • Be careful with coffee machines. These don't usually boil the water for nearly long enough.

After 3 minutes of boiling, all bacteria and viruses that may be in the water are dead. You can then safely drink the tap water.

End of the boil-water advisory

You will be automatically notified when your tap water is once again safe to drink. Then you no longer need to boil your tap water.

Water from a water truck or a water tank

Sometimes the water supply is shut off because we are working in your area. Then Waternet will deploy water trucks or water tanks to ensure that you still have water.

The water from our truck or tank is clean and has a high quality. Please boil the water for 3 minutes after you have fetched this water in a pan or a bottle. This ensures that the water is safe.
