How to save water in the toilet
We all use it. Every day. Several times. For smaller visits or larger ones: the toilet. But did you know that you often waste a lot of water when you flush the toilet?
How many litres do you flush down the toilet?
Every day, we use an average of 141 litres of tap water per person. Of this total, we flush about 30 litres of water down the toilet. We could all be a bit more economical in this regard. How exactly?

Just need a pee? Then use the small flusher!
Does your toilet have 2 flushers? A smaller one and a larger one? Then remember: Use the smaller flusher for a pee. This makes it easy to save tap water. That is, almost half the amount each time. Do you keep forgetting to press the small flusher? Then stick a letter on the small flusher so that you do not forget. -
Use a flush valve
Do you have a toilet with a flush valve? Then use it when you need to pee. This will save a lot of water. -
Place a bottle filled with water in the toilet cistern
If you place a full bottle in the cistern of your toilet, less water will be flushed down the toilet. Make sure that the volume of the water in the toilet cistern remains sufficient. Otherwise, you may get blockages. -
Install a small flusher or flush valve
Does your toilet not have a small flusher or flush valve? Then consider installing one.
