Our departments in a nutshell
Finance and Control
At Waternet, the Finance and Control directorate handles financial matters. It reports to the municipality of Amsterdam and the Regional Public Water Authority Amstel, Gooi en Vecht, for which Waternet works. In addition, this directorate monitors the plans of Waternet and the progress and implementation of these plans.
Service Provision
The Service provision directorate is responsible for all aspects of service delivery. Inside and outside Waternet. Within the organisation, it manages human resources and resources for employees. Outside the organisation, it focuses on providing services such as customer service and everything to do with payments. This also includes source and nature management, licensing and enforcement.
Information Supply & ICT
At Waternet, the Information Supply & ICT directorate is responsible for the digital systems. This includes managing and maintaining software programmes, controlling digital infrastructure and ensuring digital safety. They are also working to further digitise Waternet and improve business processes.
Asset Management and Operations
At Waternet, the Asset Management and Operations directorate is responsible for all assets. Assets include pumping stations, dykes, pumps and waste water treatment facilities. This directorate performs the core tasks at Waternet. For example, cleaning wastewater, producing tap water and keeping surface water such as ditches, rivers and canals clean. It also ensures that the water level is maintained, i.e., that the water in canals and ditches is at the correct level.
Strategy and Development
At Waternet, the Strategy and Development directorate is responsible for strategy. They set long-term goals and plans. They encourage innovation and drive significant change. For example, making the work of Waternet climate proof and sustainable.
