Why are the tap water rates changing in 2018?

The tap water rates will be changed on the 1st of January 2018. You will be paying a higher fixed rate and  less for your actual water use. The fixed rate allows us to maintain the water mains and to supply water to your address. Your water use consists of all the water you use to drink, shower and wash.

These new costs more accurately match the actual costs for the maintenance and production of tap water. The difference will be clearly shown on your bill. This will allow you to see exactly what you are paying for, it is more transparent.
