I cannot read my water meter. What should I do?

If there is condensation on the glass 

Are you unable to read the water meter because there are water droplets on the glass? Then tap the water meter a few times with the back of a screwdriver or something else. After a few taps you should be able to read the meter. In some cases, you can turn the water meter a little bit to move the droplets away. 

If you cannot reach the meter 

Are you unable to reach the water meter? For example, if the meter is in a well? Then you may not be able to report the reading. We will then estimate your meter reading. That's not a problem: usually our estimate does not differ much from your actual water use. You will find our estimate of your meter reading on your annual statement.
